YouDJ Mixer is a mobile DJ app built around one promise: a real dual-deck mixing experience, without the learning curve of a physical controller. We designed and built the mobile app end to end, from the deck interface down to the track library behind it.
The Challenge
Real DJ software is built for people who already own a controller and already know beatmatching, cue points, and crossfading. That leaves almost everyone else out. The brief was to keep the genuine feel of a two-deck mixer — live waveforms, a working crossfader, real effects — while making the whole thing approachable enough that a first-time user is mixing within their first session.
What We Built
- A dual-deck layout with live waveforms and a real crossfader, so the mixing model matches what an actual DJ setup feels like rather than a simplified toy version of one.
- FX, a PRO panel, and per-deck EQ placed directly beside the decks, keeping every shaping tool one tap from the mix instead of buried in a menu.
- A built-in, searchable library of thousands of tracks by genre and mood, so a set can be built and mixed without leaving the app to source music.
- An XP and rewards layer that turns practicing transitions into a reason to come back, instead of a mixer that is only interesting once.
